Silent Commands

secret to imvu triggers

secret to imvu triggersA lot of products, voices, and poses are triggered by either the menu when you right click on your avi, or by saying the trigger word. It’s easier for me to type the word (if I remember it) but it’s annoying having the trigger words show in the text or bubbles. It doesn’t show if you use the menu with a mouse but that can be a pain when you’re doing several things at the same time and when you have several things with commands on. But here’s a little trick you can use to hide the the triggers even when you type.

Just put a * /trigger. There has to be a space after the *. And another trick is that you can put several triggers on the same line like this: * /command1 /command2. Now I just want a list of all my triggers. I made some of those before and might make some online too in case that’s helpful too.

What do I do?

imvu ambassador

imvu ambassador
Someone asked me in a message what I do here. It’s an interesting question, though I’m not sure if most people really know or have a job here per say. I guess in a sense I’m lucky having found a fun job that I have a great time with here. Anyway here’s the answer that I thought was worth putting up here.

Sometimes I say I’m the IMVU Ambassador, trying to show the world how amazingly fun this place can be. Sometimes I say I’m the IMVU Fantasy Developer, because I like the fantasies section of my website and I try to help people live out exciting fantasy scenarios. Overall I’m just trying to help the whole imvu world a little and having a ball.

I’m not really looking for anything specific but I also like to pick good people’s brains and learn what I can to try to teach IMVU. There’s just a lot of things that it seems like we all have to learn by trial and error in here and I’m trying to create a fun happy resource to help teach a little of that and make it easier to explain to someone outside what this place is like. I guess that’s a long answer to your short question, but it was a good one.

IMVU Music Search Tip

imvu music mix searchingI really like the music fuctions at IMVU. The limitations imposed by IMVU, such as limiting mixes to two songs by any one artist or album are stupid but otherwise music can be a big plus in your IMVU experience. Unfortunately the IMVU music search process can be a real pain. If the name of the track you’re looking for isn’t totally unique you may have to page through page after page of songs with the same term. That’s why I like to search for the song I like first on Goggle or YouTube and get the correct name and artist. That makes it much easier to find the song you were really looking for.

Most people don’t have as many mixes and as much variety as I have. I like to make a special music mix for every different room or type of room. Music is a very good way to create a mood and convey emotion.

Another good tip for finding the right music for something is to search for it on iTunes because that will sort them by popularity. So you can find the popular one you were thinking of, and then go look for it in imvu.
