I want to see your drawers

The new version of IMVU has a great new feature that allows you to make additional categories for your clothes. I kind of thought of this as “drawers,” in my closet. You can label each one to find things faster and easier. This is brilliant and long over due. It’s easy to wind up with over a thousand or a couple thousand things in your closet and it gets very hard to find things, believe me. Now you can have drawers labeled with type theme or color or anything you want. So my question is what did you label your drawers?

I read somewhere this is a VIP feature right now, though they might expand it to everyone in a little bit. So if you don’t see it, I’m sorry I don’t mean to confuse you. If you’ve used it, post some some of your labels in a comment. You can leave your name/screen name if you want but no information is required. I just thought it would be interesting to see how other people are using this new feature.

  1. ooh such a sexy photo. its also great that you can re-order lists too. for me, after putting my play toys in one list, the next thing i did was made a “default” list, of all the pieces that go on every outfit (eyes, head, skin, avi, voice box, hands, eyebrows, and the pieces of jewlery that i remember my family by) there’s actually a lot. makes making a new outfit so much easier. then ofc can do favorites, like favorite shoes, favorite hair, etc… but i’m excited to hear how others are using it. so many possibilities. been waiting forever for this. now they just need to add shopping with friends!

Yay! I can finally put things in drawers that are labeled to make sense to me! Maybe I should call them closets or armoires! (hope I spelled it right) lol. I at first labeled my drawers like Dresses, Skirts. Etc. (not very clever). This was easy to correct though, cause you can just delete and start over! Easy! Also I realized after placing all my dresses in one place that I need to join the 12 step program for dress addiction. Anyway now I need to sort the dresses in some way. Maybe label like sexy, alluring, flirty (my personal fav) or sophisticated, mini, shorter than mini, colors, black, almost got married in it, (not to many in that drawer) as you can see the sorting can be limitless. Now hairs can be put away too! Lets see, blonde, (hmm since blonde can be spelled Collette Almost all went in there) brunette, redhead, or maybe more alluring labels like Mysterious, Enchanting, Trendy! I am going to have fun with this feature and I think you will too! Katy, your idea for a default avatar is brilliant!

  3. OK I’ve played with it a little finally (yeah I’m slow I know) and I like the Default drawer. That’s important because it lets you add the things you’re trying to keep on most outfits. I also have a couple drawers with themes like school girl and slutty. I think one of the most helpful is Tops (cause it’s hard picking out my good tops only, because so many are full outfits). I also have full outfits, and MINT since those are called several different things, like Green, Mint or LIme and I like them to match tops and bottoms and shoes etc.

The best drawers for me seem to be for the big categories since they were the hardest to dig through and which don’t have just one term which you can already fliter on. Also things you need more often too. I like this and hope you get to use it too.

  4. 3 more drawers i find super useful, Tops like you said. Also, Bottoms. But your’e right mostly Tops. And then layerables. Since those are always so hard to find. having those 3 was a big help in putting together new outfits. had so much fun!
